Known internationally and locally as “The Roman Bridge,” the main double arched bridge of Lavertezzo only dates back to the 17th century, but is built in the free-standing Roman Arch style. The Verzasca River

Known for its crystal clear-blue water, the Verzasca River is one of the biggest draws to the small village of Lavertezzo. With exposed boulders and rocks dotting the riverbanks, the Verzasca river is pristine and makes for the perfect riverside setting for picnics, hiking and swimming. With steep walls in the valley, many small streams and cascades flow from the mountains into the river, creating beautiful waterfalls for summer visitors.
