Every once in a while, we come across a destination that is highly misunderstood. This often happens with destinations that have only 1 single attraction that it is famous for, so travelers think that that one attraction is the only reason for a visit; this is especially the case with Peru.
Peru is most famous for Machu Picchu, as it should be. The stronghold high in the mountains is a destination of wonderment and intrigue for everyone, but in a traveler’s excitement to get to Machu Picchu, they might forget to take in the beauty around them in the small villages and countryside around the mountain passes.
“It’s the journey, not the destination.”
Our favorite thing about the Peruvian Countryside has got to be the coastline. While the high peaks of the Cuzco Region are the biggest attractor to the area, these steep cliffs also go right up to the Pacific Ocean, where they slope down into some of the most pristine and beautiful coastline in the world. The coast is dotted with many small fishing villages, and even urban cities that are — in our opinion — the real highlight of a Peruvian vacation.
Vacation in Trujillo
Located in the La Libertad region of Peru, Trujillo is the second highest populated city in the country. It’s resorts along the beach attract many South American tourists, and peoples from the bordering countries often see this city as their “Dream Vacation Destination.” Known as the “Capital of Everlasting Spring,” Trujillo boasts moderate weather, and beaches that are filled with visitors nearly year-around. Best yet, ancient temples and historic ruins are only a quick drive away from the city center, so for a centralized vacation destination, Trujillo is a perfect.

Inspiring images to visit Peru.
More than just the famous Machu Picchu, Peru has very much more to offer. Many attractions and rich culture to experience. Peru is a must see country.
Beautiful pics – alas not a one from Trujillo, Chan Chan, Paso horses, or any of the other gems of the region you are highlighting.
We had a month in Peru last year and another two weeks this year. Definitely a country that deserves to be on everyone’s must-see list.
I agree that there are a vast array of amazing sights to see in Peru. We spent 1 month there and it feels like we didn’t see much at all.
Great photos taken from perspectives that wouldn’t occur to most people
